# Launching a token

> One transaction: token, pool, opening price, dev buy.

Every launch mints a fixed supply of **1,000,000,000 tokens** and opens a
Uniswap v4 pool seeded with 99% of it. The pair you pick is what your
chart is quoted in forever.

## The launch transaction

What actually happens when you sign:

1. The token is deployed at a mined CREATE2 address (v4 requires a
   canonical currency ordering, so the token is ground to sort below its
   pair).
2. The pool is initialised at the opening price derived from the pair's
   **Chainlink feed at execution time** - there is no client-side price
   maths to be wrong and no way to fake the opening price.
3. The fee hook is installed and a single-sided position with 99% of
   supply is seeded from the opening tick upward.
4. Your dev buy executes, if you asked for one.
5. The launcher proves it holds nothing - the transaction **reverts** if a
   single token or unit of the pair is left in it.

<Warning>
  The opening market cap must be between $500 and $10,000. On some stock
  pairs, very low opening caps are refused by the contract's price
  arithmetic - the create form warns you and shows the exact price your
  pool would open at before you sign.
</Warning>

## Simple vs Advanced

**Simple** launches charge a 1% trade fee, split between you and the
platform, and need nothing else configured.

**Advanced** launches choose their own trade tax - up to 10% in 0.1%
steps - and split it between:

* up to **8 payee wallets** with custom shares
* a **buyback & burn** wedge
* a **liquidity** wedge
* **holder dividends** paid in the pair currency

plus an optional **max wallet** cap. The whole split is fixed at launch
and enforced by the pool's hook - it is not a promise, it is the contract.
Details in [Fees](/fees) and [Wedges](/wedges).

## After launch

* The **fee address can be handed over** - a token outlives the wallet
  that launched it.
* Artwork and description can be attached or updated by the creator.
* Nothing else can be changed. There is no admin over a live pool.
